What is special about fusion rifles and what stats are there?
Fusion rifles behave differently from representatives of other weapon classes in various ways. Accordingly, the different stats are also interpreted somewhat differently. But one step at a time:
- Wind-up time: A feature you won’t find in any other weapon category. Fusion rifles do not shoot instantly but must first be charged. The higher the wind-up time stat, the faster the fusion rifle shoots.
- Impact: This stat is identical to the other weapon classes. The higher, the better.
- Range: This is where it gets interesting. Unlike all other weapon types, range for fusion rifles does not determine the distance at which projectiles do less damage but the speed of the projectiles. The higher the range, the faster your projectiles reach the opponent. The bullets fired from a fusion rifle deal the same damage regardless of distance.
- Stability: Here fusion rifles behave exactly like pulse rifles. The higher the stability, the less spread of the fired salvo. You want to have stability maximized.
A classic dilemma. To be competitive in the Crucible, your fusion rifle must have a fast wind-up time and hit as many projectiles as quickly as possible.
