Last week, the Iron Banner ended in Destiny. This monthly PvP event offers exclusive items that can only be obtained through it. A Redditor meticulously noted his drop rates during the Iron Banner and can now state: “It rained loot all week.”
Drop chances in the Iron Banner have been significantly increased
The user HeyFitzy kept track of the Iron Banner events from previous months and presented his results to the community. Back then, he came to the sober conclusion that the drop chances of the Iron Banner were so low that they might even be bugged. It was hardly worth grinding for the coveted items during the IB week – the chances were simply too poor before. According to the user, however, the situation looks completely different in the first Iron Banner after the April update: Apparently, Bungie dusted off their generosity and was generous during this week.

For his statistical survey, HeyFitzy completed 300 Iron Banner matches – the same number as in his previous studies. He played 257 games with his Titan alone. He needed 81 to reach rank 5. In the following table, you can see the drops he received with his Titan at the respective ranks. On the left, he also indicates the maps he played on.His personal drop rate is now at 22%. This is almost double that of his earlier surveys. In previous “Iron Banner” PvP events, he only received an Iron Banner drop about once every nine games.
The Reddit user definitely considers this a step in the right direction. An event that only lasts a week must pay off. And this Iron Banner was worth it for him, he can say nothing but praise.
Note: These figures are solely from community data. They are neither official nor to be considered generally applicable. However, “Hey Fitzi” has gained some fame in the community with these Iron Banner evaluations. Some even believe that his highly regarded assessments have contributed to the drop rate being so much better now.
