In the MMO shooter Destiny , a new week with raid challenge and Nightfall strike starts today, on 10/5.
This evening at 7:00 PM, Bungie will flip a switch to activate the new netcode, which is supposed to make melee combat more precise and better. Right now, Guardians sometimes punch the opponent in the face but deal no damage because they are not actually where they are shown on their console. They want to work on this so that hits that connect actually register.
But let’s first take a look at what the new week brings in Destiny.
This is the Nightfall strike of the week – Winterstorm
The Archon Priest is here! This is the chance to get the Possessed shotgun Stolen Will.
Modifiers are:
- Specialist – Special weapon damage is preferred
- Fresh Troops – Enemy troops are reinforced
- Shielded – Guardian shields are enhanced but do not regenerate
- Puddle – Ability cooldowns are significantly increased
These items are wanted by the faction representatives
- Eris Morn wants Worm Spores.
- The Future War Cult wants Phase Metal.
- The Dead Orbit wants Relic Iron.
- The New Monarchy insists you procure Phase Metal.
This is what’s happening this week in the Elder Challenge
The modifiers this week are:
- Airborne – Guardians deal more damage in the air
- Chaff – The radar is disrupted
- Bonus points are awarded for melee kills.
Enemies are the Cabal Val Aru’un, Vex Seditious Mind, and the Fallen Keksis the Betrayed.
Raid challenge this week is Oryx
This week’s raid challenge is against Oryx himself. He waits for you in King’s Fall.

The T3 boss in Oryx’s courtyard is Thalnok
In Oryx’s courtyard, the T3 boss Thalnok waits for you. He is the world’s biggest Crota fan.
