In the MMO shooter Destiny a new week is coming on January 26th: The Nightfall strike and the raid challenge are calling.

Last week we were excited: Something is happening again. Bungie is back from vacation, releasing new information. What happened? There was a Weekly Update from Bungie. In that, they admitted that they adjusted matchmaking in the Crucible. Now the place is on fire.
Last night there was a kind of “emergency message” after the community went wild. In the Iron Banner starting tonight at 7:00 PM, different matchmaking rules will apply from tomorrow that are supposed to reduce lag.
Anyone hoping for new PvE content will have to wait a while longer. Bungie has declared PvP festivities for this and next week. But let’s turn to PvE, the weekly reset.

Nightfall strike on January 26th brings the Dust Palace
This week, the Nightfall strike leads to the Dust Palace on Mars.
Modifiers are:
- Solar Flare – Solar damage is significantly increased (3 times for enemies, twice for Guardians)
- Brawler – The melee damage of Guardians is significantly increased
- Ironclad – More enemies have shields
- Airborne – Guardians deal more damage while airborne
The Future War Cult and Eris Morn want Wormspores, Dead Orbit wants Helium Filaments, and New Monarchy likes it when you bring them Ghost Flowers.

Challenge mode in the raid is Oryx
This is not such good news. Starting January 26th, Oryx will be available again as a challenge in the raid. The standard tactic is to let 16 Orbs explode at the same time. As a reader informed us yesterday, there are currently significant problems with lag and bugs. The bombs just wouldn’t ignite. Hopefully, there won’t be any nasty surprises in Destiny today and that those were just isolated incidents.

This is the T3 boss in Oryx’s courtyard
This week, Oryx’s biggest fan Thalnok resides in Oryx’s courtyard, and the fight against him plays out like a mini-version of the Crota fight.
Tips and videos for this week’s challenges
In this section, we will embed a few videos throughout the day. There you can find some inspiration for the fight against the minions of Darkness.
