In the MMO shooter Destiny there is now a complete run of the first new mission from “The Taken King”, The Coming War.
Apparently, with the live stream yesterday some “embargos” have lifted. YouTubers had already prepared runs of strikes and missions and uploaded them last night. The largest US fan site “Planetdestiny” posted a complete run of “The Coming War”, the first new mission, online.
That was the mission, which had already been seen in excerpts at Gamescom. The Guardians investigate a Cabal base on Phobos and witness firsthand what the return of Oryx is all about. The (or any power under his command) reaches for the Cabal and turns them into “Taken.” It clearly goes more in the direction of horror.
What can still be taken from the video:
- “Hand Cannons” are now seemingly regular weapons that can also be found. Previously, they were only available in very limited quantities.
- The Ghost is back and has a lot of text. Also, Eris Morn and other NPCs will increasingly engage in the dialogue, although this doesn’t come across strongly in this video.
- In the game, there are still cutscenes; they left them out of this video so that players can experience them “live.” They are said to be very good, as it’s reported.
