In the MMO shooter Destiny, Halloween is surprisingly celebrated, with some items and events.
On Monday, October 26, at 6:00 PM, it was time: Suddenly, the “Festival of the Lost” started, which is apparently this year’s Halloween event. It runs until November 9.
According to initial reports, there is a Grimoire card entry. Players can now find “Jackolytes” from regular enemies, which were also present last year.
Additionally, the Tower is now festively decorated to match the spooky season. And there are various masks. New emotes can also be purchased in the Tower.
Eververse, the new real-money shop, is now selling the gestures:
- Boo – for 300 Silver
- Monster Dance – for 500 Silver
- Zombie Dance for 700 Silver – the dance is inspired by Michael Jackson’s music video Thriller.
Furthermore, Eververse now also offers Halloween packages, which also cost Silver, thus indirectly real money.
Halloween is Mask Time in Destiny
Inhabitants of the Tower wear various masks. Cayde-6 has disguised himself as Eris Morn (the clever dog), the Cryptarch goes as a gigantic Engram, and Shaxx as the famous, game-removed “Tiger-Man.”
Guardians themselves can also wear masks of some well-known Destiny characters. For example, there are masks of Atheon, Skolas, and a green Engram. Additionally, there are masks of Xur, the Cryptarch, Eris Morn, Oryx, and many more.
These masks are necessary to complete certain quests from Eva Levante. She initially gives a “Free Package” from the Halloween packages which cost Silver from Tess. Additionally, you can fill an empty bag with trinkets when defeating enemies in PvE or PvP while wearing a mask.
Merchants in the Tower also give out candy, except for Eris Morn – she hands out raisins.
The quests definitely show humor. For instance, there is one about falling off the Tower as “Atheon.” A reference to a glitch from Year 1. Or it involves collecting Engrams as a Cryptarch.
The masks seem to be a relatively complex matter. You can even make them permanent with “Glue” by upgrading a “blue mask” to a legendary one. You can trade paper scraps with Eva Levante for one of the masks.
There is even a new Crucible map just for the Halloween season! The Cathedral of Dusk.
Summary: Put on a mask, do PvE or PvP, fill your candy bags, trade them with “Eva Levante” for new masks. Complete quests that require masks. Dismantle excess masks and make them “permanent” with glue that you want to keep after the festival.
