New details about the Age of Triumph update in Destiny have been revealed. We take a closer look.
On March 15, the second livestream from Bungie regarding the upcoming content update “Age of Triumph” took place. It focused on the weekly rituals – the content and rewards updated with the weekly reset and displayed in the navigator at the bottom left of the screen.
However, the stream also showcased more than just these “Weekly Rituals”. Bungie also guided viewers through the new Eververse, through the Silver Dust store, and revealed further details that caused quite a stir in the chats and forums.
A feature set to return with Age of Triumph became the main topic on Reddit right after the stream and caused cheers: “Blue Flames! Blue Flames are back!”
The Return of the Blue Flames
Some fans might have missed the “blue flames” during the stream. When the Guardians finished the Nightfall strike and were at the Tower, the “blue flames” flickered around their heads. Here’s a screenshot where you can catch a glimpse of that:
But what do these flames mean? Most “Year 1” Guardians will remember: They represented the buff given after successfully completing a Nightfall strike. Additionally, it was a way to show other players in the Tower: Look, I mastered the Nightfall!
Via Twitter, Bungie confirmed that not only will the blue flames return as visual highlights, but the Nightfall buff will also return. In Year 1, this buff increased all reputation and experience gains by 25% until the next weekly reset, which is why players would complete the Nightfall strike first in the new week, if possible.
The blue flames are now returning to the joy of many Guardians – Bungie is reviving nostalgia once again.
