What is the free item about? Whether you are playing in Shadowkeep or the Free-to-Play version Destiny 2: New Light – through Bungie’s own rewards program, you now have the opportunity to secure a Powerful Engram. You will receive a Powerful Item in the game as a result.
Powerful Items provide you with the biggest boost in Destiny 2 on your way to the maximum level and are therefore highly sought after.
How do you get the free Powerful Engram? You don’t have to do much for it, and there are no hidden costs waiting for you.
If you want to claim this welcome gift for yourself, you need to register at Bungie’s “Bungie Rewards” program. You can do this through the official website. There, you just have to request the Engram.
To participate in the Bungie Rewards program, you need to have a verified email registered on your Bungie.net profile. Additionally, you must agree to receive newsletters and other marketing emails from Bungie.
Who should wait to claim? If you are currently below the soft cap, meaning under power level 900, you should be patient. Otherwise, the Engram would basically be wasted.
Because the Powerful Engram helps you the most when you have already surpassed this threshold and your power level is above 900. Below 900, almost every item you find represents a power upgrade. At 900, only Powerful Items and Exotics help you on the way to the level cap. And the sources for these are limited. Here, the Powerful Engram can then show its full benefit.
And especially when leveling for the upcoming Shadowkeep Raid, every additional Powerful Item is valuable for many Guardians right now.
