In Destiny 2 it’s Friday again. This means for all Guardians it’s “Shopping-Time” again. Xur, the creepy but impressive extraterrestrial, brings his exotic wares to players for the last time in Season 18, which may actually be worth it this week.
What happened this week in Destiny 2? The rumor mill starts to stir again towards the end of Season 17. Leakers claim Bungie is planning to permanently remove the power level grind. Whether this will actually happen or if it is just empty words is something you will find out here.
Furthermore, Kevin Yanes, the Combat Design Lead, spoke up again. Many players once threatened him with murder when he announced that Titans would not get their beloved Destiny 1 Exo back. Now, with Arc 3.0, a lot is changing, and it becomes clear that Titans should have let the developer finish speaking.
Additionally, we have new details about Arc 3.0. So if you want to know, what new features all classes will receive, you can get informed in our detailed post.

Trials of Osiris from August 19 – 23 – Map, Weapons, and Info
What map is in play this week? The so-called PvP Trials always take place on a designated map. This weekend, you can let loose on it for the last time. The trials will only start again in the upcoming Season 18 on September 16. So make use of the opportunity.
- This week there are three maps in rotation.
- Once Distant Shore on Nessus
- Endless Vale also on Nessus
- as well as Convergence on Mercury
If you are interested in playing the trials in a team, MeinMMO recommends the callout maps via Warmind. This way, you can effectively communicate where the enemies are located on the map, which provides useful information for the entire team.
How to get your loot: The Trials of Osiris feature a reputation system. Your top loot reward from the PvP matches is currently for:
- Seven Wins
- 50 Rounds
- as well as the infamous flawless run that leads you to the Lighthouse
This is the reward for a flawless run: Each week, a special weapon awaits you at the Lighthouse, which you receive for your flawless run, meaning 7 wins, as a master version. You can earn the weapon until next Tuesday, August 9, at 7:00 PM.
- This week you can earn Reed’s Regret on Adept. A Stasis Linear Fusion Rifle.
All trials weapons have a Trials origin perk: “Quickness” – Increases reload speed, stability, aim assist, and range when you are the last surviving member of your fireteam or fighting solo.
If you have received your desired weapon, you can focus your trials engrams at the 14th Saint towards your desired weapon. Additionally, you will get enhancement prisms and ascendant shards. Remember that your reward increases even further once you have a full pass – even if you’ve lost one or two games.
When do the Trials officially start? The Trials of Osiris start today, August 5, at 7:00 PM and end with the weekly reset on August 16 at 7:00 PM.
