On the weekend, we take another look at Xur’s offerings in Destiny 2 and where you can find him. But also at the current events at Bungie.
What happened this week in Destiny 2? Before you set out to search for the mysterious Exo vendor and explore his offerings, join us in looking back at what happened last week in Destiny 2.
In addition to the in-game content, this week saw internal communications about the developer Bungie that engaged the Destiny 2 community.
- Destiny 2 has suffered a significant decline in popularity since the DLC Lightfall, leading to Bungie laying off 8% of its workforce.
- Following this news, Destiny 2 players canceled their pre-orders for the 100 € expansion
The Final Shape
in solidarity with the laid-off Bungie employees.
It is a sad reality that the game no longer holds the same fascination it did in its earlier years. Despite Bungie’s ongoing efforts to improve the player experience and add new content, many players found it too much recycling and too little innovation. They have moved on to other games or simply given up on Destiny 2.
In a first statement, Bungie has now acknowledged that it has “lost a lot of the players’ trust” and explained how it will proceed from here.
In retrospect, Lightfall was indeed a “nightmarish paralysis of reality that hinted at the fall of light”:

What are the Trials of Osiris in Destiny 2?
Those who play the Trials of Osiris
, also known as Trials, in Destiny 2 enter the PvP endgame. Organized by the 14th Saint, it offers intense 3v3 matches where only the bold and skilled can collect the master rewards and Trials cosmetics at the Lighthouse.
There are always two teams of three players competing against each other. The goal is to defeat the opposing team by eliminating all members.
An interesting feature of the Trials is also the map on which the matches are played, which changes weekly. This requires players to have a flexible approach, as they must adapt to the different environments and tactics. The active map will be revealed every Friday in our Xur article.
The Trials also offer special rewards that can only be earned in this mode. Every 3rd rank-up rewards you with a powerful Trials Engram. Inside are Trials gear and weapons that bear the Trials logo. The armors can also glow, making them very sought after. However, only if you succeed in going flawless, meaning achieving 7 victories in a row. Each week, one of the available weapons can also be earned as a master version. But only if you make it to the Lighthouse with a flawless ticket.
In case of defeats, progress can be lost and players will have to start over.
Which map is active this week? In the Trials, Guardians need to focus on a specific map. It does not change and remains active until the Weekly Reset on November 7 at 6:00 PM.
This is the reward for a flawless run: Each week there’s also a special weapon waiting for you at the Lighthouse, which you receive for your flawless run, that is, 7 victories, as a master version. You can also earn the weapon until the upcoming Tuesday, November 7 at 6:00 PM.
As a reward, there is always an Adept weapon if you successfully made it to the Lighthouse with your ticket.

These weapons can also still be earned:
- At rank 10, you get the grenade launcher “Kataphrakt GW3”
- If you reach rank 16, you can pick up the hand cannon “Igneous Hammer” (Normal Version) from the 14th Saint.
Focus on the loot you want: You can also specifically focus your Trials Engrams at the 14th Saint on the weapon you desire. On top of that, you can get upgrade prisms and ascendant shards.
- Your rewards increase further once you have a complete pass – even if you lost one or two Trials matches.
When do the Trials officially start? The Trials of Osiris begin today, November 3, 2023, at 6:00 PM and end with the Weekly Reset on November 7, 2023, at 6:00 PM.
