In Destiny 2, the next expansion Shadowkeep is around the corner. This fall, there will be plenty of changes again. The Eververse will also see changes. Therefore, you should definitely dismantle your cosmetics before the release of Shadowkeep.
These items you should dismantle: The expansion Shadowkeep will be released on October 1 and will bring several changes for the Destiny universe. One change concerns the ingame currencies, especially those you earn by dismantling Eververse items.
With Shadowkeep, Guardians will also receive Glimmer Dust from normal gameplay. Now, you have to either complete Eververse bounties or rely on luck with engrams. Sometimes, you receive a small amount of Glimmer Dust from these engrams.
Before the release of Season of Dawn, it is best to dismantle all your cosmetic items from the Eververse.
That’s why you should dismantle the items: With the upcoming expansion, you will no longer receive Glimmer Dust when you dismantle items from the Eververse. They will only provide a certain amount of Glimmer and legendary shards, and will only cost Glimmer and legendary shards if you want to pull them from your collection.
Now is the best opportunity to clear out your unused Eververse armor, ships, sparrows, ghosts, and shaders in order to accumulate Glimmer Dust.
Can’t part with items? Of course, you don’t have to get rid of all cosmetic items before Shadowkeep. Maybe you have Eververse armors with the perfect rolls for you, or you’re already swimming in Glimmer Dust and don’t know what else to do with it.
However, some of you Guardians might, like me, suffer from chronic Glimmer Dust shortage and might be able to gather a small amount through this method.
But if you really can’t part with your items, yet still want the Glimmer Dust, then wait to dismantle them until just before the release of Shadowkeep. This way, you can still use your cosmetics until September 30, dismantle them before you log out, and then pull them again from your collection with Shadowkeep.
