In Destiny 2 the Weekly Reset takes place today, on December 17th. This also marks the start of the Winter Event “The Dawning”. Additionally, you can expect fresh weekly activities like new Nightfall strikes or a new Flashpoint. What else is there to do?
The Christmas season begins in Destiny 2: With a maintenance-related delay due to Update 2.7.0.1, the Christmas season has now begun in Destiny 2. With the start of the four-week Dawning event today, the now snow-covered Tower dons a festive coat and invites all Guardians to celebrate.

The new Oven 2.0 and the starting quest for the Dawning event can be found with Eva in the Tower. Additionally, the quest surrounding Saint-14 continues and there are new Obelisks for the Sundial. But what else does the new Destiny week have to offer the Guardians?

These Nightfall strikes can currently be contested: If you want to run regular Nightfalls (Power level 820) this week, the following are available to you:

Strikes and story missions at the start of the new week have these modifiers:
- Arc Burn
- Blackout
- Grenadier
Note that: The elemental burn remains active continuously for one week, while the other modifiers rotate every day.

Flashpoint: The Flashpoint is located on Nessus.
Petra Venj can be found this week (Curse Week 1) at the Pavilion in the area “The Shore”. You can currently tackle the 2nd Ascendant Challenge in the Dreaming City.

This is how Powerful Loot is structured in Destiny 2: Powerful gear comes in several quality levels. Items of a higher tier grant you an accordingly higher power boost.
- Tier 1 (up to +3 above the current power level)
- Tier 2 (up to +4 above the current power level)
- Tier 3 (up to +5 above the current power level)
- Peak gear (+5 or more above the power level. The only gear that goes over 960 and up to a maximum of 970. From 960 up to +2 power)
By the way: Power levels gained through the seasonal artifact are not considered in the calculation of the power levels of your drops. Your regular power level is crucial for that.
