In Destiny 2 today, on May 7th, it’s Weekly Reset. The new update 2.2.2 is now live. Additionally, the weekly activities are changing. There are new Nightfall strikes, a new Flashpoint, and fresh challenges.
With a maintenance-related delay, a new week in the Destiny universe is dawning. Once the Update 2.2.2 has been downloaded and installed, Guardians can plunge back into battle.

After the last weeks were all about the spring event, things should calm down a bit in Destiny 2 now. The revelry is over, and Season 6 has thus almost spent all its powder. Does Bungie possibly have a surprise in store for the time until Season 7 ?
But what does this week have to offer for Guardians?
Nightfall Strikes from May 7th on PS4, Xbox One, and PC
The following Nightfall strikes can be tackled this week:
- Guardians of Nothing
- A Garden World
- The Twisted Tower
For this, your Guardian should have a Power Level of at least 540. However, the Nightfall can also be completed with a lower Power Level in a well-coordinated fireteam.
If you want to customize your Nightfall experience using various modifiers, you can do so via Xur’s challenge card. Keep in mind that your gear will be locked for the duration of a Nightfall strike. You should plan your loadout in advance.
Are you still hunting for some Nightfall-exclusive rewards? The following Nightfall-specific rewards are available with a bit of luck this week.
You want Powerful rewards from Nightfall strikes? Here’s what you need to do:
- successfully complete a Nightfall
- master a Nightfall with at least 100,000 points
Strikes and Story Missions
The following modifiers are active in the Vanguard strikes and heroic story missions:
- Solar Singe
- Glass: Health and shields are reduced by half, but recovery is twice as fast
- Brute: Melee abilities deal more damage and charge much faster
Until the next weekly reset on May 14th, the Singe element remains unchanged. The other two modifiers will change daily.
You want Powerful rewards from strikes and heroic missions? Here’s what you need to do:
- complete 3 heroic story missions
- complete 3 heroic strikes with a focus of the same light element as a member of your fireteam
Crucible, Gambit, Reckoning
The following modes are available in PvP:
- Quickplay
- Competitive
- Doubles
- Rumble
- Private Match
By the way: In Gambit, there are double Infamy points all week long.
The following modifiers are active in Reckoning:
- Void Singe
- Prism
- Heavyweight
You want Powerful rewards from PvP, Gambit, and Reckoning? Here’s what you need to do:
- participate in 5 Crucible matches
- participate in 3 Gambit matches
- participate in 4 Gambit Prime matches
- successfully complete Reckoning runs (up to 100%)
The Wanderer offers weekly bounties for Gambit Prime as well as “The Power of the Traveler” for regular Gambit. With the regular Gambit bounty, you can earn Powerful loot.
Escalation Protocol
If you are lucky in the Escalation Protocol on Mars this week, you might snag the following gun:
- the legendary Sniper Rifle IKELOS_SSG_v1.0.1
Flashpoint, Ada-1, Petra, Spider, Raid
The Flashpoint is located in the EDZ on Earth.
Ada-1 offers all 7 Powerful Weapon Styles in her inventory.
Ikora Rey rewards Powerful loot when you complete a total of 20 bounties. Vanguard followers also receive the weekly Loyalty Reward from her. Otherwise, this can be obtained from the Wanderer.
Hawthorne rewards your effort for the clan with a Powerful item when you accumulate 5,000 clan XP. With the bounties “Each as he likes,” “Strength of Memory,” and “Friends?” you can earn additional Powerful items.
Petra Venj can be found during the currently second curse week in the spawn area of the Dreaming City. Battle through her mission, her 8 daily bounties, and the 6th Ascendant Challenge, and you will be accordingly rewarded with Powerful loot.
Spider has the weekly bounty “Bloodsplicer” ready for you. This can secure you a Powerful reward.
The Raid Challenge takes place in the Circus.
The Loadout for the Prestige Raid Sections:
- any kinetic weapon
- a fusion rifle in the energy slot
- a fusion rifle as a power weapon
- Modifier: Arsenal
The highlights of the Eververse:
- a weapon ornament for the “Wardcliff Coil”
- an armor ornament for the Hunter gloves “Liar’s Handshake”
