In Destiny 2 today, on December 3rd, is Weekly Reset. For Guardians, this means: there are fresh weekly activities as well as new Nightfall Strikes and a new Flashpoint. But what else is there to do?
Today marks the last week of Season 8 in Destiny 2. And we are curious if it will receive a proper finale after all.
But before Season 9 begins, we have a few tips for you for the rest of the current Season:

But what else can the last week in Season 8 offer to Guardians?
Key Information about the Weekly Activities
These Nightfall Strikes you can play: In the regular Nightfall (Power level 820) you can choose from these Strikes:
- A Garden World
- The Twisted Pillar
- The Corrupted
Nightfall: The Crucible offers these difficulty levels:
- Master (recommended Power Level 750, with matchmaking)
- Hero (recommended Power Level 920, with matchmaking)
- Legend (recommended Power Level 950)
- Grandmaster (recommended Power Level 980)
This week you will play the “Savathun’s Song” strike in the Crucible. This cannot be changed.
Strikes and Story Missions: The following modifiers are active in the Vanguard Strikes:
- Solar Singe
- Grounded
- Brawler
While the Singe modifier does not change. The remaining modifiers rotate daily.
Crucible: You can choose from these playlists and modes in PvP:
- Private Match
- Rumble (Core Playlist)
- Momentum Control (Rotation Playlist)
- Lab: Elimination (Core Playlist)
- Countdown (Rotation Playlist)
- Survival (Core Playlist)
- Survival: Freelance (Core Playlist)

Escalation Protocol: You can acquire this weapon from the final boss in the Escalation Protocol on Mars:
- the legendary IKELOS_SSG_v1.0.1 sniper rifle

Petra Venj can now be found for one week (Curse Week 2) directly at the landing zone of the Dreaming City. Moreover, the 6th Ascendant Challenge is currently active.

This is what’s different this week: For once, all Nightmare Hunts on the Moon are active at the same time. If you want to earn the Triumphs for the Time Trials in the Nightmare Hunts, this week is the ideal opportunity.
These are the tiers for Powerful Gear: Powerful Loot is divided into several tiers that grant you various Power boosts:
- Tier 1 (up to +3 over the current Power level)
- Tier 2 (up to +4 over the current Power level)
- Tier 3 (up to +5 over the current Power level)
- Peak Gear (+5 or more over the Power level. The only gear that goes over 950 and up to a maximum of 960)
- Additional tiers obtained through the seasonal artifact do not count towards the average Power level and thus do not contribute to drop calculations
