In Destiny 2 today, on July 2nd, is Weekly Reset. The exotic Lumina quest is now live. Additionally, with the reset, weekly activities and challenges rotate. There are now fresh Nightfall strikes and a new Flashpoint.
You can start hunting this new Exotic now: Owners of the Annual Pass for Destiny 2 can rejoice. Today, with the Weekly Reset, a fresh quest has started for them. There, Guardians can earn a new exotic hand cannon – the Lumina.

It looks like Lumina will be a real novelty in the world of Destiny. As seen in the new trailer, it appears to be the first weapon that can not only kill but also heal allied Guardians.

Nightfall Strikes from July 2nd on PS4, Xbox One, and PC
These are the Nightfall strikes for this week:
- Strange Terrain
- The Hollowed Lair
- Savathûn’s Song

For Powerful Rewards:
- Successfully complete a Nightfall
- Successfully complete a Nightfall with at least 100,000 points
Strikes and Story Missions
When you complete Vanguard Strikes and heroic story missions, you will encounter the following modifiers:
- Arcology Burn
- Blackout: Enemy melee attacks are significantly stronger and the radar is disabled
- Grenadier: Grenade abilities deal more damage and recharge much faster
The burn element will remain unchanged until the next reset. The other modifiers rotate daily.
For Powerful Rewards:
- Complete 3 heroic story missions
- Complete 3 heroic Strikes with the focus element matching the active burn element
Crucible, Gambit, Gambit Prime, Reckoning
This week’s agenda in PvP:
- Quickplay
- Competitive
- Breakthrough
- Rumble
- Private Match
These are the modifiers in Reckoning:
- Arcology Burn
- Blackout
- Heavyweight
For Powerful Rewards:
- Participate in 5 Crucible matches
- Participate in 3 Gambit matches
- Participate in 4 Gambit Prime matches
- Successfully complete Reckoning runs (up to 100%)
At the Nomad, you will receive this week the bounty “In the Mill”, which you can use to earn a powerful reward.
Escalation Protocol
If you spend your time this week in Horde mode on Mars, you can snag the following weapon from the final boss:
- the legendary Shotgun IKELOS_SF_v1.0.1
Flashpoint, Werner/Benedict 99-40, Ada-1, Petra, Spider
The Flashpoint is located in the Tangled Shore. For completing it, you’ll get powerful loot. Master the marked heroic adventure there and you will receive another powerful reward.
Werner/Benedict 99-40 has the usual 4 weekly bounties. From all 4 you will receive powerful loot. If you complete all 4, an additional powerful reward awaits you. Up to 3 more powerful rewards can be obtained with the Chalice of Opulence through the Menagerie.
At Ada-1, you will find all powerful weapon patterns.
Complete 20 bounties of any kind, and you’ll receive a powerful reward from Ikora Rey.
Once you’ve earned 5,000 Clan XP, you can pick up a powerful item from Hawthorne. If you master Hawthorne’s bounties “Endless Battle”, “All for One, One for All”, “Perfect Victory”, and “A Troubling Affair”, you will receive a powerful reward for each task.
At Petra Venj you’ll find her this week (Curse Week 1) at the pavilion in the area “The Shore”. If you master Petra’s quest, the Ascendant Challenge, and a total of 8 of her daily bounties, you will receive a powerful item for each of these tasks. This week the 2nd Ascendant Challenge is live.
Spider has the weekly bounty “Arcadia Accord” ready. Complete this task and you will receive a powerful reward.

- the exotic ship “Oviraptor”
- the Hunter leg armor from the new Eververse set
- the Titan class item from the new Eververse set
- an exotic armor ornament for the Warlock gloves Ophidian Aspect
- a weapon ornament for Tarrabah
