In Destiny 2 today, on January 7th, the Weekly Reset rotates the weekly activities. You can expect fresh Nightfall Strikes as well as a new Flashpoint. But what else is there for the Guardians to do?
What’s happening in Destiny 2? Today, two new pieces of content are being released for Season 9 of Destiny 2. On one hand, with the legendary Sundial, a new difficulty level for the seasonal Sundial activity begins.
On the other hand, the quest for the new exotic pistol “Devil’s Ruin” begins.

These Nightfalls are currently available: If you want to play regular Nightfalls (Power level 820) this week, you have the following options:
- The Twisted Peak
- The Arms Dealer
- The Scarlet Fortress
In Dawning: The Fire Test you can complete the Strike
- The Terminus of Insight
successfully.
Strikes and Story Missions are available with the following modifiers:
- Arc Burn
- Blackout
- Grenadier
Please note: The Burn modifier will remain active throughout the week, while the other modifiers will change daily.
Crucible: You can choose from these playlists and modes in PvP:

- Rumble (Core Playlist)

Escalation Protocol: On Mars, you can earn this weapon in the Escalation Protocol:
- the legendary IKELOS_SSG_v1.0.1 sniper rifle
Flashpoint: You can find the new Flashpoint in the EDZ.
Petra Venj can be found this week (Curse Week 1) at the Pavilion in the “The Shore” area. In addition, you can tackle the 5th Ascendant Challenge in the Dreaming City this week.

This is how Powerful Loot is structured in Destiny 2: Powerful gear comes in various quality levels. Items of a higher level grant you an correspondingly higher power boost.
- Level 1 (up to +3 above current power level)
- Level 2 (up to +4 above current power level)
- Level 3 (up to +5 above current power level)
- Power Gear (+5 or more above the power level. The only gear that goes over 960 and up to a maximum of 970. From 960 up to +2 Power)
For your information: Power levels gained through the seasonal artifact are not counted towards the calculation of the power levels of your drops. The average gear and weapons are decisive here.
