In Destiny 2, today, January 8, is the Weekly Reset. The Niobe Labs are now live. Additionally, there are new activities and challenges for the Guardians. What are this time the Nightfall Strikes? And where can one find the Flashpoint?
What does the new week hold for the Guardians? With today’s weekly reset, the Niobe Labs of the “Black Armory” DLC are starting. Initially, many fans thought the Niobe Labs were the fourth forge of the Black Armory or some kind of Dungeon activity in the style of the Shattered Throne.
However, as Bungie recently confirmed, it is not a dungeon but a kind of event that is supposed to lead the Guardians to the fourth and final forge. Once the associated puzzle has been solved, the Bergusia Forge is then supposed to be unlocked for all.
The studio did not reveal more details but refers to Twitch, where numerous streamers and representatives of the Destiny community are working to solve the puzzle.
Furthermore, the Cursed Thrall is entering its third cycle week in the Dreaming City. So, you have the opportunity to tackle the Shattered Throne and secure the exotic bow Wish-Ender .
Also, those who still need the Service Violation quest can be happy. The chance of encountering the special Acolyte is greatest this week.
Nightfall Strikes starting on 01/08 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC
This week, you have the choice between the following Nightfall Strikes:
- The Corrupted
- The Pyramidion
- Will of the Thousands
A power level of 540 is recommended for the Nightfall Strikes. Individual adjustments to the modifiers are possible with the challenge card. The gear is locked during the Nightfalls, by the way.

Here’s how to get Powerful Rewards:
- Complete a Nightfall Strike
- Complete the Nightfall Strike with at least 100,000 points
Strikes and Story Missions
The heroic story missions offer the following modifiers:
- Void Singe
- Iron: Enemies have more health and do not stagger from damage taken
- Heavyweight: Power weapons deal more damage and more ammunition is available
In the Vanguard Strikes the same modifiers are active. The Singe element remains unchanged until the next reset. The other modifiers rotate every day.
Here’s how to get Powerful Rewards:
- Complete 3 heroic story missions
- Complete 3 heroic strikes with a focus of the same light element as a fireteam member
Crucible Activities and Gambit
In PvP you can choose between the following modes:
- Quick Play
- Competitive
- Rumble
- Showdown
- Private Match
Here’s how to get Powerful Rewards:
- Complete 5 Crucible matches
- Complete 3 Gambit matches
Escalation Protocol
This week, there is a chance to get:
- the legendary Shotgun IKELOS_SF_v1.0.1
Flashpoint, Petra, Bounties
You find the Flashpoint on Mercury. There is also a heroic adventure there that drops a Powerful Engram.
With Ikora Rey you must successfully complete a total of 20 bounties, for which you will be rewarded with a Powerful reward at the end.
With Hawthorne you must gather 5,000 XP for your clan. The reward: Powerful loot. Clans also have the option of securing the weekly raid challenges “Endless Battle” and “Stay Tuned”. In case of success, there is also a Powerful reward for each.
With the Drifter there’s the weekly bounty “Get on with it.” Again, a Powerful reward is waiting at the end.
Ada-1 offers the following powerful weapon crafts for the forges this week:
- Auto Rifle
- Bow
- Hand Cannon
Petra Venj can be found in the Rheasilvia area of the Dreaming City. There you will receive a mission that is rewarded with Powerful loot. For mastering the Ascendant challenge and the 8 daily bounties, there are two additional Powerful rewards. Currently, the 1st Ascendant Challenge is active.
Spider offers the bounty “Silent Reaper“. You will receive Powerful loot at the end.
The Loadout for the Prestige Raid sectors includes:
- a kinetic shotgun
- an auto rifle in the energy slot
- a rocket launcher as a power weapon
- The modifier Gladiator is active
You will find the Raid Challenge this week in the Gardens of Desire.
In the Eververse you will find among other things:
- the chest piece of the event armor sets
- the exotic ghost shell Neon Helix
- a weapon ornament for the Prospector
