Bungie introduces the characters from Destiny 2 in smaller segments. Not only the heroes of the story are portrayed, but also the antagonists are introduced. Today’s featured character: Ghaul.
Ghaul is the new villain in Destiny 2. The Cabal boss wants to capture the Traveler – and use its power for himself. To achieve this, the Traveler is imprisoned in a gigantic cage.
This ensures that its powers cannot escape – the Guardians have no light anymore and are vulnerable.
This is undoubtedly the greatest threat we have faced in the Destiny universe so far. Through the light of the Traveler, we could always be resurrected, but that is no longer possible.
Ghaul introduced in character video
The leader of the Red Legion was not always as charismatic a leader as at the start of Destiny 2. Torture, mockery, and rejection have made him stronger. Ghaul is referred to as a megalomaniac in the video. But see for yourself:
How megalomaniacal Ghaul actually is will be revealed as the story progresses. Presumably, Ghaul will play a major role in the new raid of Destiny 2 – similar to Oryx in the Taken King DLC.
