Bungie Help is also working on Destiny 2 during the holidays, which is why there will be maintenance today, December 20th. MeinMMO reveals what Guardians can expect during the downtime and what changes the patch will bring.
6:09 PM: The patch notes are now available. We will link them at the end of the article with an additional note on what is not included in the patch notes.
6:04 PM: The update is here. The download on Steam for PC is 95.6 MB.
3:15 PM: The Destiny 2 servers are now offline. Now it’s time to wait. You can find the exact schedule for the maintenance further down in this article.
Here’s what you need to know today: With the upcoming patch 7.3.0.4, a brief but necessary period of unavailability is approaching while the developers work diligently behind the scenes on improvements, bug fixes, and new content.
- On Twitter/X, Bungie already warned that due to a problem, no new characters should be created during the Dawning event, as this would result in losing already earned Dawning materials.
- In addition, there are more patches on the list that will also fix bugs in Destiny 2 before Christmas.
MeinMMO tells you how long the downtime will last, so you know exactly what changes and when you cannot play today.
This activity in Destiny 2 reveals an unusual love:
Maintenance on 20.12. – All times for server downtime
These times are important today: Bungie informs its players via Twitter/X about the planned downtimes. The planned downtime is 2 hours and 45 minutes.
Here’s the schedule for the maintenance:
- At 2:00 PM, background maintenance starts on all platforms.
- At approximately 3:15 PM, the servers go offline. Players will be automatically kicked from the game.
- During the downtime, Bungie will gradually roll out update 7.3.0.4 so that players on all platforms can download and install it.
- At 6:00 PM, the shooter should be back online and you can log back in.
- The maintenance will then continue in the background until 8:00 PM.
It may also take longer until you are back in the game. Additionally, third-party apps and the official Companion app may not be correctly accessible for some time.
These changes come with update 7.3.0.4 in Season 23
What might change today: Every Guardian can report bugs directly to Bungie. The developer adds these and own bugs, errors, and problems to their to-do list. The things that will be fixed soon are noted.
The following bugs are currently on Bungie’s to-do list:
- Warning: Due to a problem, Guardians should not create new characters during the Dawning event, as this would cause already earned Dawning materials to be lost.
- The buff “Scorching Wish” applies continuously Scorch to Guardians in the activity “The Weave” in various ways.
- Some legendary emotes are sorted in the selection with exotic emotes.
- The Dawning event shows an incorrect end date.
- The health of the bubble created by the glaive “Blade of Action” is lower than intended.
- The pulse rifle
Stay Cool
has a larger muzzle flash than intended. - Guardians are not receiving some benefits from the snowball upgrades.
- Some buttons are missing in the player menus, such as for sending a Bungie friend request when displayed in lists.
- Buying gifts of the Dragon at Riven’s hideout while other players activate the portal causes an extremely loud noise.
- Veist auto rifles can partially rotate offscreen in the inspection view.
- When the automatic melee setting is activated, glaives almost always perform double melee attacks.
- The Osmosis perk does not activate on some scout rifles.
- Defeating Broken Knights too quickly in the dungeon
The Ruin of the Warmind
can prevent players from progressing in the encounter. - The tracker for flawless solo completions of the Ruin of the Warmind uses an incorrect name for the dungeon in the description.
- Gained weapon master engrams do not appear in the engram tracker.
- “Find strike team…” appears on the screen to check a friend’s invitation, even when the strike team finder is not being used.
- Characters in the chat of the strike team finder might appear somewhat blocked.
- The weekly 100,000-point challenge in the Weave may not reset successfully.
- The “Dawning” triumph for the Star Baker title cannot be completed. However, this will only be corrected retroactively for all players after the Dawning ends.
- Player name changes are not endlessly customizable via bungie.net. Several “Number-Guardians” are still waiting for the option to change their usernames again instead of receiving the message “You have no name changes available”.
