In Destiny 2 comes today, on 23.02., the update 3.1.0.1 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S as well as on PC and Google Stadia. Along with the bug fixes, there are also maintenance tasks and even a server down, so a forced break for the Guardians.
This is happening today: In the evening of February 23rd, the first update since the start of Season 13 will be released. Before you dive into the new battlefield or the Iron Banner event, you need to download patch 3.1.0.1 and endure an unusually long maintenance period.
Update 9:45 PM: You can now log in and play. Keep in mind that there may still be server issues during the ongoing maintenance.
Update 8:45 PM: Bungie had to extend the maintenance again. Login will now take place at 10 PM German time, when the servers come back online.
Update 6:20 PM: The update is now live and can be downloaded.
- On PlayStation 5, it is 523 MB large.
- Initially, the patch was supposed to arrive around 8 PM.
- However, the servers remain unreachable – likely until the scheduled 8 PM. Guardians are greeted with the message “This version of Destiny 2 is no longer available” even after downloading.

Maintenance on the 23rd of February – All about the process and server down
These times are important today:
- Start of maintenance is at 5:00 PM German time.
- 5:45 PM starts the down time, Destiny servers go offline. All players will be removed from ongoing activities.
- From 10:00 PM, the servers will come back online and update 3.1.0.1 will be released worldwide.
- Only after the update has been downloaded (and copied) can you log in and play Destiny 2.
- By 11:00 PM, the maintenance is then scheduled to be completed.
As always, it applies: The times are not set in stone. It may take some time for patch 3.1.0.1 to be available for download for you. If anything changes during the long maintenance work, we will inform you.
Until the background work is completely finished (11:00 PM), there may be login issues and queues.
If you are using third-party applications or the official companion app, their functionality will only be limited available on the evening of 23.02.
What changes today in Destiny 2 with update 3.1.0.1?
These fixes are coming: At the start of the new season of the Chosen, some issues have occurred. According to Bungie, these will be a thing of the past after the update:

- Merchant tooltips no longer state that trials tokens are needed to increase the reputation rank.
- The Stasis fragment “Whispers of Chains” now correctly grants damage resistance near frozen enemies.
- When switching between Challengers’ Medallions or Cabal Runes at the Fire Trials Hammer, the used currencies are now refunded.
We now know that the changes are indeed broader than announced. Here are the highlights:
- The missing S.A.B.E.R Strike should be accessible.
- Some exotic ornaments have been fixed.
- Players who obtained items from Eververse but found them nowhere will later receive a refund. Additionally, all challenges should now grant the right amount of Glimmer.
- You can no longer receive more than one instance of the Hawkmoon per run.
- You can now properly reset Gambit and Crucible ranks.
What other issues are known? The Destiny developer has recently compiled numerous other discrepancies they are working on. This includes faulty progress on the catalyst for the exotic bow from Season 13, faulty mods from the artifact.
