In Destiny 2 today on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia maintenance is taking place – including server downtime and a new patch. The major update 2.9.0 marks the start of the new Season 11, which begins immediately afterwards. Here is all the important information about the maintenance process and the patch notes.
Even if not much is known yet – today with the Weekly Reset, Season 10 ends and the new Season 11, the Season of Arrival, starts. But before you can dive into the new content today, you need to download the major update 2.9.0. Because it brings the new season into the game.
The update is now live and can be downloaded. On PS4, it has version number 1.52 and is 3,821 GB in size.
Update – Problems on PS4: Currently (21:30) Destiny 2 on PlayStation 4 is experiencing server issues. Bungie confirms that they are working on it. However, officially it may take until 23:00, at which point the maintenance is scheduled to end.
This is how the maintenance will proceed today
The maintenance will last for several hours today, but there will only be a short downtime – provided everything goes according to plan.
These times are important today:
- The maintenance will start at 18:00 German time
- At 18:45 the Destiny 2 servers will go offline, downtime begins
- At 19:00 the server downtime is supposed to end. The release of update 2.9.0 will start on all platforms and in all regions.
- From 19:01 it should be possible to log in to Destiny 2 and get started
- The maintenance should completely end at 23:00
Please also note: Until the maintenance officially ends at 23:00, there may be queues and login issues in Destiny 2.
