Today, on May 7th, the update 2.2.2 / 1.35 for Destiny 2 has been released. What changes with the new patch? Here you will find all the important information about the maintenance work, server downtime, content, and patch notes.
Today not only the Spring event “The Indulgence” in Destiny 2 ends. There is also a new update that all Guardians need to download and install before they can dive back into combat.
The update is now live and can be downloaded. On PS4, the patch number is 1.35 and it is about 215 MB in size.
Attention, problems on Xbox: Don’t be surprised if you’re playing on Xbox and still can’t log in or are still waiting for the update. Apparently, there are issues. Bungie has announced that the server maintenance has been extended by 3 hours, until 11 PM. Xbox players will not be able to log in until the update is made available on their platform!
What’s changing with update 2.2.2 / 1.35 in Destiny 2
Bungie revealed a few days ago what’s in the new update 2.2.2 for Destiny 2. The focus is primarily on fixing numerous bugs, but it also brings a controversial balance change.
Here are some highlights of the update:
- controversial nerf of the spectral blade hunter
- the seventh invitation of the nine is finally being fixed
- some indulgence achievements will be unlocked retroactively
- the faulty chaos reach super of the warlocks will be fixed
- A bug that made arc hunters somewhat overpowered will be resolved

Destiny 2: Everything about maintenance, downtime and server downtimes on May 7th.
As part of today’s maintenance work, there should be brief downtimes due to scheduled server downtimes. If all goes smoothly, the servers will only remain offline for 15 minutes.
This is how the maintenance work is supposed to proceed on May 7th:
6:00 PM:
- Scheduled start of maintenance work
- Some features of the companion app will be disabled. These will then not be available on the web, on mobile devices, or through third-party services
6:30 PM:
- All features of the companion app are disabled and no longer available
6:45 PM:
- Destiny 2 servers go offline
7:00 PM:
- Destiny servers come back online
- The update 2.2.2 will be made available on all platforms and in all regions, and can now be downloaded and installed
- Features of the companion app should soon be available everywhere and in full
8:00 PM:
- Expected end of maintenance work
- Console players experiencing problems with the update should restart their console or perform a reset (No, not a factory reset!)
This is how to perform a reset on consoles: Simply disconnect your PS4 from power for about a minute or hold the power button of your Xbox One a little longer until the console shuts down and then restarts.
