Today, on July 17, 2018, shortly after 7:00 PM, the last major update before the upcoming Forsaken expansion was released. It includes some new features and bug fixes for Destiny 2.
These new features await you on July 17 with the July update for Destiny 2
The July update gives Guardians a lot to do over the summer before the Forsaken expansion launches on September 4, 2018. Here’s what Guardians can expect with update 1.2.3:
- The end of Year 1 is celebrated with the seasonal event “Solstice of Heroes.” The event will be patched into the game with today’s update, but it will not go live until July 31.
- For PvP enthusiasts, the 6vs6 Quickplay comes to the Crucible.
- The Rumble playlist will be permanently added to the Crucible.
- Bounties are making a return.
- The two raid sectors of the Leviathan raid will receive Prestige modes. These will start staggered on July 17 and 18.
- On PC, the long-awaited Clan text chat will arrive.
- Further sandbox changes for exotic armors are on the way.
- With the Year 1 Triumphs, Guardians have some final tasks to complete in the first year. The Moments of Triumph are already active and can be earned in parts.

Destiny 2: Maintenance, Downtimes, Server Downtimes on July 17
As soon as update 1.2.3 is available for download and installation, maintenance work will also be carried out today, Tuesday, July 17, 2018.
However, no downtimes are expected – except in emergencies. This means there will be no server downtime. You only need to interrupt your gameplay to download and install the new update. After that, you should be able to continue playing normally.
Schedule of Maintenance Work:
7:00 PM:
- Start of Destiny 2 server maintenance.
- Destiny Companion app, gear, and clan features will not be available on Bungie.net, mobile devices, and third-party apps during this time.
- Downtimes for Destiny services are not expected.
- Destiny 2 update 1.2.3 is available for download and installation.
- PlayStation 4: Players should be removed from their activities and taken back to the login screen to accept the update. However, some players may need to manually search for the update.
- Xbox One: Players can power cycle their console to manually check for the update once it’s released.
- PC: Players can close and restart Destiny 2 to check for the update.
11:00 PM:
- End of Destiny 2 server maintenance.
- Players who have not installed update 1.2.3 will be removed from their activities to download and install it.
- Destiny Companion, gear, and clan features will be reactivated on Bungie.net, mobile devices, and third-party apps.
