In Destiny 2, the perks and stats of Eriana’s Vow are known. This is an exotic hand cannon that many of you will receive next week in Season 8.
This exotic weapon is about: Fresh info has surfaced regarding the exotic hand cannon “Eriana’s Vow”. Some journalists and YouTubers were allowed to play Shadowkeep at Bungie last week and capture footage. While our Destiny author Sven took a closer look at the new artifact that will be important in Season 8, the well-known Destiny YouTuber Datto showcases “Eriana’s Vow”.
When and how can you obtain Eriana’s Vow? So far, the only known information about this weapon is how to get it: Through the Season 8 rewards. Every Guardian, regardless of whether they own Shadowkeep or not, receives Eriana’s Vow upon reaching Rank 35 in the Season Pass system of Season 8.
If you purchase Shadowkeep, you automatically own the Season Pass for Season 8, which grants you access to the premium seasonal rewards. Therefore, you will receive Eriana’s Vow as soon as you reach Season Rank 1.
This means that as soon as you gain access to the Season 8 rank rewards, Shadowkeep owners will get the exotic. This should happen right on October 1st at the Shadowkeep launch or shortly thereafter.
These are the perks of Eriana’s Vow
This is what makes the exotic special: Eriana’s Vow is a combination of a hand cannon and a sniper. In the image above, you can see that the weapon has an enormous range and a scope for long distances.
The magazine size is 6, the rate of fire is 90. Additionally, Eriana’s Vow is an energy weapon that deals solar damage.
These are the special perks:
- Looks Can Kill: The weapon fires shield-piercing rounds.
- Death At First Glance: Bonus damage when you look through the scope on the first shot. The bonus is retained if the shot deals precision damage or hits an elemental shield.
According to testers, the bonus damage from “Death At First Glance” is around 45%. You can trigger it again directly if you briefly look away from the scope and then look through the scope again.

How strong is the exotic in PvE and PvP?
So far, only an early build of Destiny 2: Shadowkeep has been tested, which is why it is still uncertain how Eriana’s Vow will fit into the meta.
For PvE, it can be predicted that it will likely be a fun weapon that can achieve some one-shots from a distance.
In PvP, the weapon currently kills with 2 headshots. When the weapon’s bonus is active, two body shots are enough for a kill. With the active perk bonus, body shot damage is said to be 108 and precision damage at 164.
Without the bonus, Eriana’s Vow deals 78 body shot damage and 134 precision damage.
You spawn in PvP with 4 rounds in the weapon.
With weapons of light, the headshot damage of Eriana’s Vow is said to be 221 – which corresponds to a one-shot kill. Titans should be looking forward to that.
