The channel of the Austrian YouTuber Andy Edition seems to be in danger. The community of German-speaking Guardians of Destiny 2 wants to help and has started a petition. It is gaining momentum quickly.
This is what happened good for Andy Edition: MeinMMO reported about Andy Edition yesterday. The YouTuber experienced a moment of happiness after two years of hard work. Finally, his efforts as a lore explainer for the German-speaking community bore fruit:
- His number of viewers and subscriptions increased significantly in September 2018, which was certainly also due to Forsaken bringing many Guardians back to Destiny 2
- on the other hand, Bungie decided to feature Andy Edition in a community focus worldwide – a kind of knighthood for content creators of Destiny.
This is what happened bad for Andy Edition: However, this increase in attention also brought a significant increase in troubles. Several of his videos were reported anonymously on YouTube. They allegedly violate community guidelines.
The channel received two strikes, and a third would risk deletion. Protests against the strikes were unsuccessful. For now, Andy Edition cannot publish any further videos.
No one really knows what Andy has done wrong. Not even he himself.
Many suspect that envious competitors might be behind it, who are displeased with the rise of the rival.
This is how the community reacts: The Guardians have opened a petition for Andy Edition, in which they demand the continuation of the channel. The intention is to show how many supporters Andy has in the German-speaking community.
Within one day, 1734 votes were gathered (as of 15:54 on October 31).
This petition is not legally binding – it ultimately serves only to show sympathy to the YouTuber and encourage him to keep going.
Also, many Destiny 2 fans on social media are expressing their support for the YouTuber. Generally, many are appalled that someone apparently has an interest in sabotaging the channel and is so successful at it.
There are allegations against certain German-speaking YouTubers, but since the reports to YouTube are anonymous, it cannot be said with certainty who or what is behind it.
This is how the YouTuber reacts: He appears on Facebook visibly moved by all the positive feedback he is receiving in his difficult situation.
This is how you can participate in the petition for Andy Edition: If you want to participate in the petition, you can show your support for Andy Edition at the page secure.avaaz.org.
We reported about it a year ago that German-speaking YouTubers had trouble, but the trouble did not come from anonymous sources but from other German-speaking YouTubers related to Destiny 2:
