Auto Rifles
Auto rifles are among the best weapons in the current Crucible of Destiny 2. Their TTK is low – at the same time, the range of many auto rifles is significantly higher than in Destiny 1, making them suitable for medium distances as well.
With these auto rifles, you can wreak havoc in the Crucible:
The exotic auto rifle Workhorse provides real value only when you shoot at your opponent with maximum fire rate (Rate of Fire – ROF).
The other auto rifles take down enemy Guardians faster than other weapon types. The optimal TTK is consistently below 1.20.
Auto rifles usually dominate only when you get close to the enemy, carrying a higher risk that should be rewarded. This logic does not function in Destiny 2, as auto rifles reliably kill even outside their intended range.
Whether Bungie intended to create an auto rifle meta at the launch of Destiny 2 is unknown. After all, the Suros Regime, an exotic auto rifle, was once top in Destiny 1 as well. Adjustments are likely to come here soon.
