Bungie reveals the roadmap for Destiny 2 leading up to the release in September.
Yesterday, on March 30, 2017, Destiny 2 was unveiled with an impressive trailer.
The community manager DeeJ now provides a roadmap for Destiny 2 in “This Week at Bungie” and via Twitter – a schedule that lists what Guardians can look forward to until Destiny 2 launches in September.
Next Step: Gameplay Reveal for Destiny 2
Four key milestones are mentioned:
- The Story Reveal – This took place on March 30 with the reveal trailer. The Last City has fallen – due to a brutal invasion by the Red Legion led by Ghaul. Zavala and Cayde-6 gather troops to reclaim the homeland.
- Gameplay Reveal on May 18 – During a livestream event, we will see the first gameplay footage of Destiny 2.
- Beta in the Summer – There is no official date for this, but rumors suggest that it will start in June (likely around E3). If you pre-order Destiny 2, you will receive early access to the beta.
- Launch of Destiny 2 on September 8
Furthermore, DeeJ emphasizes that there will be much more about Destiny 2 in the summer. The roadmap includes several more milestones. Bungie will be attending many events during the summer. We expect to definitely see Destiny 2 at E3 and Gamescom (though this has not been officially confirmed yet). According to DeeJ, many questions that Guardians have about Destiny 2 will be answered in the coming weeks and months.
Confusion about the Age of Triumph Seal
Another topic in “This Week at Bungie” is the Seal. If you encounter issues with it, you should try closing third-party gear manager apps while you play.
Additionally, the milestones are listed that are retroactive, which you could or had to complete before the launch of AoT:
- All milestones on the “Memorial” page
- All milestones on the “History” page
- The milestones “Stay on Target”, “Mountain Peak”, and “Unearthed Secrets”, which you receive when you reach Level 40 with each class.
- The milestones “Victory or Death”, “Self is the Hunter”, and “Difficult Lesson”, which you receive when you have completed the Crucible Focus quests.
- The “Historian” milestone on the “The Crucible” page.
- The “Raid Insignia” milestone on the “Raids” page.
- All milestones on the “Collections” page.
- All milestones on the “Wanderers” page, except “Duty Defender” and “Cave Explorer”.
- All milestones on the “Loyalty” page, except “Efrideet’s Attention”.
- The “To the Lighthouse” milestone on the “Trials of Osiris” page.
