Destiny 2: The raid gear of the world devourer tract – 2 new weapons

In Destiny 2, new raid gear was introduced with the Eater of Worlds. What weapons and armor pieces for Titan, Hunter, and Warlock can you earn now?

Shortly after the launch of “Curse of Osiris”, the Eater of Worlds opened its gates. This is a new raid activity that takes you into the belly of the Leviathan. By the way, the “standard raid” of Destiny 2 also takes place on the Leviathan, a massive ship.

Normally, Guardians look forward to new raid gear for days in advance, and when the raid goes live, they play for weeks with their friends to fill their pockets with the new, exciting loot.

However, this is different with the Eater of Worlds raid: Hardly anyone talks about the raid rewards. In fact, there isn’t a major gaming site or a larger YouTuber who has taken the effort to list the new items. Because: The raid loot is extremely meager.

Although the Eater of Worlds raid is mostly rated positively and as an excellent raid experience, it is hardly worth playing multiple times due to the meager rewards. Let’s look at what rewards it offers.

Two new raid weapons can be earned

The supposed highlights of the new raid loot are two new weapons. Both are power weapons.

Zenith of Your Kind – Shotgun

“Zenith of Your Kind” is a legendary shotgun with an enormous fire rate of 100. Thus, it belongs to the same archetype as Perfect Paradox. Generally, all stats of this weapon are similar to those of the forge weapon: These are the perks:

• Rapid-fire frame: Fires automatically; increased reload speed when the weapon is empty.
• When enemies are nearby, reload speed, stability, and handling are improved.

You have the choice between:

• The magazine will partially reload automatically when the bearer is critically injured
• When holstered, the weapon will automatically reload after a short time

Additionally, you can adjust range, stability, and handling.

I Am Alive – Grenade Launcher

The second weapon is a grenade launcher called “I Am Alive”. The stats are similar to those of the Evil Sister, a Vanguard grenade launcher: The perks:

• Adaptive frame: A rounded grip, reliable and robust.
• When holstered, the weapon will automatically reload after a short time

You have the choice between:

• Greatly increased magazine size, significantly reduced reload speed
• Increased projectile speed, increased reload speed

Additionally, you can influence stability, blast radius, handling, and projectile speed.

“Zenith of Your Kind” is definitely usable and can be considered a fun weapon, but shotguns and grenade launchers are currently far from being the best in Destiny 2. Both weapons are not must-haves.

The armor pieces for Titan, Hunter, and Warlock

Each Guardian class has received a new armor set. You can see them at the Tower with Benedict, who is already showing the armor ornaments that you can earn later through the prestige mode of Eater of Worlds, which will be unlocked later. The ornaments have the same look as the raid lair armor, they are just a bit brighter and shinier.

Additionally, you earn shader, a completion emblem, and Calus tokens in the raid lair. For the tokens, you get gear from the standard raid with Benedict in the Tower.

Overall, the raid loot from Eater of Worlds is disappointing. However, there is hope: Game Director Christopher Barrett announced that they will revise the raid items early in 2018. The most difficult activities should also be the most rewarding. And this gear described above is far from that …
