The new episode of Destiny 2 is titled “Returner” and was released on October 8, 2024. Players can expect a fresh dungeon and one of the best weapons from the predecessor.
What is the new episode about? In “Returner,” you will experience the return of Fokrul the Fanatic. This time he has an army of undead in tow, the “Scorn.” Fans already know this faction from the DLC “Forsaken”.
The launch trailer reveals that a new, powerful Scorn species has emerged and is hunting Eliksni throughout the system. In “Returner,” you will confront this new threat as the Butcher Baron.

New game mode and powerful sniper rifle
What new content is being added? There are three new maps for the onslaught mode, where you can now fight against new opponents and use new traps. Additionally, on October 11, the first dungeon will be available with Vesper’s Host, which will feature a Contest Mode.
The Icebreaker is returning, one of the best weapons from Destiny 1. It is a sniper rifle that can regenerate ammunition. This ability and its high damage made the weapon a favorite in the original.
The Titan class has been revamped by the developers and now fulfills the classic role of a tank. Titans can now attract the attention of enemies by deploying a barricade and positioning themselves behind it.
A new gameplay mechanic allows you to increase your luck at looting and your combat power. You can now brew potions that ensure certain weapon types are dropped more frequently as loot.
