On March 20, the 5th Faction Rally will take place in Destiny 2. The factions are enticing players again with new weapons and the last chance to obtain armor ornaments of Season 2. After that, the group battles will take a break for revision.
Next week it’s time again. With the Weekly Reset on March 20, the factions will enter the Tower one last time for Season 2 and proudly spread their banners. Dead Orbit, New Monarchy, and Future War Cult will once again call the Guardians to arms to assert their interests.
There are new weapons to earn. Furthermore, the 5th Faction Rally gives the Guardians one last chance to unlock faction armor ornaments of Season 2 until the end of the winner’s week on April 3.
As soon as this one-week event ends on March 27, the group battles will take a break and will be revised by Bungie.
All info about the 5th Group Battle
- Start: March 20 at 6 PM
- End: March 27 at 6 PM
Participation requirements:
- At least character level 20
- The campaign must be completed
- As soon as the rally starts, you must play the faction rally introduction milestone if you haven’t done so yet
- Then you join a faction
The rules of the game have not changed: Per character, you can pledge allegiance to one faction (Dead Orbit, New Monarchy, Future War Cult), then collect tokens for them and earn as many reward engrams as possible. The faction that drops the most reward packages after one week wins the rally. You support the faction of your choice by completing public events, strikes, and the raid, looting lost sectors, or measuring yourself against other Guardians in the Crucible.
The rewards of the Faction Rally
By completing activities as a member of a faction, you collect tokens. You redeem these for faction engrams, which contain standard rewards such as weapons and armor pieces.
These are all Season 2 weapons that can now be earned through faction engrams:
In Season 2, you can also earn ornaments, which you unlock by completing specified objectives. So you don’t need “drop luck” for this. These are the ornaments:

Additionally, the factions also have winner weapons for you. Only the faction that wins the group battle at the end will provide the winner weapon:
Dead Orbit – Sniper rifle:
New Monarchy – Grenade launcher:
Future War Cult – Sniper rifle: If you are a member of the winning faction, you will receive the winner weapon after the event for 1000 Glimmer. All other Guardians can buy this weapon as well – however, for 50,000 Glimmer.
How the group battles will be revised
- Pledging allegiance to a group should be a significant decision.
- Rewards should not be time-limited.
- Group battles should provide a unique gameplay experience and not just layer a rewards tier onto the existing game.
- The event should provide more insight into its background story and objectives.
- It should build on player interest in lost sectors and armor ornament tasks.
