Destiny 2: The Dawning event is coming! - Brings snowballs & Mayhem

In Destiny 2, “The Dawning” event is approaching. Bungie has now revealed what to expect during the winter event.

It’s getting wintry in the Destiny 2 universe! “The Dawning” is near.

This is the winter event in Destiny that took place last year in Destiny 1. It is called “The Dawning” in English.

Bungie just released a blog post revealing what’s coming for you during the Dawning in Destiny 2. We summarize the information.

“The Traveler has awakened. A new golden age has begun for humanity. This year, the Dawning is particularly special – it not only celebrates the new year ahead but also the beginning of something greater. Now, it’s more important than ever that we gather in the Tower, in the Farm, and across the system to show gratitude. Our light has returned – illuminating everything around us.”

It starts on December 19 (Tuesday)
It ends on January 9 (Tuesday)

The event lasts for three weeks.

These are the new features during the event:

The Tower and the Farm will be festively decorated:
Snowball fights: Snowballs will be scattered everywhere. In the Tower and in the Farm, you can throw them at your friends. In Strikes, you can throw them at enemies to temporarily stun them and deal massive damage.

Mayhem returns: “Mayhem” is the Clash PvP mode that many Destiny veterans may remember. In the Crucible Mayhem, abilities charge faster, allowing you to unleash one Super after another. This creates chaos – but after all, you are celebrating your light during the event.
Dawning milestones: Each week, you can complete a milestone for a Dawning Engram. This milestone will guide you into the Crucible or Strikes.
New consumables will come that reward all players you play with.
New Dawning items will be introduced, with Tess Everis updating her offerings every week so that you can buy them with Glimmer.
Throughout the three event weeks, she will have every Dawning Exotic (ships, ghost shells, sparrows, emotes) and every Dawning armor piece available. Here you can see the Dawning armor pieces:
Gifts: In the Bazaar in the Tower, you can pick up a gift sketch. Then travel the worlds to create a gift that you can then give to a merchant. You will then receive a gift from him in return. Every day during the event, one gift can be made.
