In Destiny 2, images for Season 8 have been revealed, showing Vex invasions. Is this the new activity “Vex Offensive”?
Where do the images come from? The Bungie developers have updated their official website for Destiny 2 Shadowkeep and uploaded a few new screenshots. These show fresh scenes from Shadowkeep and Season 8.
See the Vex invasions here: It is known that Season 8 ties into the events of the Shadowkeep story. In this “Season of the Undying,” you can expect a surge of Vex conducting invasions on the Moon and likely in other locations.
All signs indicate that this screenshot shows such an invasion on the Moon:
A huge Vex portal is opening above the surface of the Moon. Lightning strikes down, and some Vex can be spotted beneath the portal.
And here is a similar Vex portal – but significantly smaller – in the Black Garden. The new Shadowkeep raid is supposed to take place in the Black Garden:
This image shows Vex enemies fighting several Guardians. A few Orbs of Light are lying on the bottom right.
What kind of invasions are these? It is not known what specific activities we see in these images. The portals strongly suggest that Vex will emerge from them.
It is officially known that Season Pass holders will have access to a new seasonal activity called “Vex Offensive” in Season 8. This will provide specific loot for you. Whether the images above show this Vex Offensive or other Vex invasions potentially in the form of new public events will be revealed in the future.
New Vex Armor
This is new armor from Season 8: Bungie has released more images for Season 8:
This is new armor in Vex style. You will receive these armor pieces through the Season Pass and possibly also through the “Vex Offensive.” In this screenshot of the Season Pass system, you can see the Vex armor pieces of the Hunter:

This might be ornaments, as the Bungie website states that Season 8 will also bring exclusive ornaments.
Additionally, there’s another image of this pretty bow:
This is likely the exotic Heavy Bow that was seen in a ViDoc called “Leviathan’s Breath.”
And this hand cannon is supposed to be the new Exotic “Eriana’s Vow:”
While the bow is supposed to be exclusive to the Season Pass, you can access the hand cannon at rank 35 in the Season Rank system. Season Pass holders get the hand cannon at rank 1.
