A new week begins in Destiny 2 and that also means a new patch. Bungie is taking its servers offline for update 8.0.0.7 and refreshing its loot shooter a bit. What you should know about the downtime can be found here.
What you need to know today: Today marks the start of Act 2 of Episode: Echos in Destiny 2. With it, new weapons, as well as the Solstice event and additional content for the season are set to be released. But before the new content is added, you will have to endure a downtime along with an additional download of the update. How long this will last and what you should pay attention to will be covered in the following section.
Maintenance on 07/16 – All times for server downtime
These times are important today: Bungie informs its players via x.com (formerly Twitter) about the exact downtime times. It is planned that the servers will be unreachable for 3 hours and 15 minutes today.
This is what the maintenance schedule looks like:
- At 3:00 PM, background maintenance begins on all platforms.
- At around 3:45 PM, the servers will go offline. Players will be automatically kicked from the game.
- At 7:00 PM, the shooter is expected to be back online and you can log back in.
- Maintenance will continue in the background until 9:00 PM.
Also, please note that third-party applications as well as the official companion app may also be inaccessible for a while, so you cannot use them.
What changes with the new update in Echos: Act 2
The following issues are known: There are numerous issues that players are experiencing in The Final Shape. Bungie is aware of some of them, but it is not known which ones will be fixed (via bungie.net). However, the following bugs could be addressed:
- For PC players with 3D audio enabled, the audio output in the game does not work.
- When class-specific exotic glaives are crafted, the error code “Weasel” appears.
- When playing on PlayStation with 3D audio enabled, the audio output does not work.
- The slam attack with consecration no longer shatters Stasis crystals.
- Heatwave is not activated when gliding or mid-jump.
- The diamond lance no longer shatters Stasis crystals.
- The wish bearer title has been removed from players who previously obtained it.
