In the current TWaB blog, Bungie announced that numerous Year 1 items will be removed with the launch of Destiny 2: Forsaken. However, a handful of popular Year 1 weapons will return in new form – with Random Rolls!
The first year of Destiny 2 is coming to an end. In just a month, with the launch of the Forsaken expansion, a new year will begin. In this context, many vendors and events will have a completely new inventory.
Many Year 1 gear pieces will be replaced with new items as the second year begins. And with the new gear, Random Rolls will also accompany this change.

However, some of the most popular weapons from Year 1 will make the jump into Year 2 – also with Random Rolls!
Forsaken Brings New Item Inventory with Random Rolls
These items are going into retirement: According to Bungie, some Year 1 items will still be available in Season 4 – including destination weapons and armor sets. However, numerous other items from Year 1 will be removed from the vendors’ inventory with the launch of Forsaken. Among them are:
Vanguard
- Weapons from Year 1
- Armor from Year 1
- Season rewards
Crucible
- Weapons from Year 1
- Armor from Year 1
- Season rewards
Gunsmith
- Weapons from Year 1
- Mods from Year 1 that will no longer be available
- Badges from Year 1
Ikora (Vanguard Research Packages from Meditations)
- Armor from Year 1
- Badges from Year 1
Trials of the Nine
- Weapons from Year 1
- Armor from Year 1
- Shaders from Year 1
- Ships, Sparrows, and Ghost Shells from Year 1
Iron Banner
- Weapons from Year 1
- Armor from Year 1
- Shaders from Year 1
- Ships, Sparrows, and Ghost Shells from Year 1
Cayde’s Stashes
- Badges from Year 1

These items will no longer be available in Year 2, but vendors will receive new gear – already with Random Rolls. All players can earn these items in Year 2.
The Most Popular Weapons from Year 1 Receive Random Rolls

Some Year 1 weapons will receive Random Rolls: Some items will return in Year 2, but not quite as you know them. With Forsaken, a handful of popular Year 1 weapons will be brought up to Year 2 standards – including Random Rolls and the ability to equip Year 2 weapon mods.
Which weapons will be included? Bungie did not disclose which Year 1 weapons will return in new form with the Fall expansion.
However, in the relevant section of the TWaB blog, a prominent image of the popular Year 1 hand cannon Better Devils was featured. Since Bungie never places such details randomly, there is a good chance that the likely best legendary hand cannon will soon enjoy Random Rolls and new mods.
What do you think of this step? Which Year 1 weapons would you particularly like to see return in Year 2? What kind of rolls do you wish for your favorites?
