Today, on August 29th, the PC Open Beta of Destiny 2 starts. Anyone can participate.
Update 17:12: To prepare for the launch of the Open Beta, maintenance is now taking place on the PC Beta. The servers are offline.
Update 17:38: The servers are back online, you need to download a small update before you can play again (the Closed Beta).
Update 19:03: First users report that the download is live. Restart the Blizzard app if the Install button is missing. However, some users report that it is still not working for them. So far, there is no information from Bungie.
Update 19:12: More and more users are reporting that the download is running for them. So far, there are no reports of error codes. Enjoy the Beta!
Since yesterday, the Closed Beta of Destiny 2 has been running on PC, accessible only to players who pre-ordered the MMO shooter or otherwise obtained a beta code. All others can currently only watch.
If you neither have a pre-order nor a code but would like to test Destiny 2 on PC, you won’t have to wait much longer. Tonight, on August 29th, the PC Beta opens its doors for all interested parties.
Here are the important dates:
- Destiny 2 PC Open Beta Start: August 29, 2017, at 7 PM
- The PC Beta phase ends on August 31, 2017, at 7 PM
There is no preload as there was for the Closed Beta for the Open Beta. According to Bungie, you can only download the necessary game data starting today, August 29th. Currently, this is still not possible. The download can only start at 7 PM.
