What exactly has been discovered? Cunning Guardians have discovered another glitch in Destiny 2. By using finishers in conjunction with a specific artifact mod, you can essentially keep restocking on heavy ammunition from any enemy.
What exactly does the glitch do? While we won’t provide a detailed guide here, we will briefly explain the main connections.
If you have the artifact mod Heavy Finisher equipped, finishing kills generate heavy ammunition. This typically requires half of your Guardian’s super energy.
With the glitch, it is possible to take down the opponent in a way that grants you heavy ammunition – and without consuming super energy.
This works essentially on any enemy (except bosses) that can be finished off at low health. Special ammunition can also be easily applied with the appropriate artifact mod.

What are finishers anyway? Finishers are a new combat mechanic introduced with the release of Shadowkeep in Destiny 2. They allow you to give the final blow to weakened enemies with a stylish finishing move animation.
Finishers can also be made more useful with artifact mods, allowing them to generate special or heavy ammunition.

Why are finishers currently a problem? These new finishers are responsible for a number of recently discovered glitches. The trick with heavy ammunition is just the cherry on top.
Prior to this, it had been discovered that you could also glitch through walls or small openings into areas that weren’t intended for access. The community, however, perceives this as less of an issue – it’s a bit of a tradition in Destiny.
Moreover, finishers can under certain conditions also be used to send bosses to the virtual afterlife with just one hit, allowing players to secure loot without having to play through the actual encounter.

How will Bungie react? This is a question many Guardians are currently asking. Because when it comes to things like this – especially when it allows players to cheat loot – the studio usually reacts swiftly.
However, it is not known how deep-rooted this problem is and whether it can be easily fixed quickly. Therefore, some fans believe that Bungie might even disable finishers until the issue is resolved – especially if they can’t fix the problem before the new content of Season 9.
