In Destiny 2 the fourth faction rally is currently taking place. We will show you how to efficiently farm faction tokens.
From February 20th to February 27th, the fourth faction rally will be held in Destiny 2. By pledging to a faction, you will collect faction tokens during the team battles by completing various activities. These can be exchanged with the representatives of the respective factions for engrams containing faction-specific loot – including new weapons from Season 2.
We will show you how to quickly obtain faction tokens.
How to obtain faction tokens – all sources
During the team battle, you will receive faction tokens as rewards for various activities. The amount of the reward varies depending on the activity. You will receive:
- for completing a Strike between 5 and 9 tokens
- for the first completion of the Nightfall Strike with each character between 10 and 18 tokens
- for successfully participating in a heroic public event 5 tokens
- for opening the boss chest in a Lost Sector 3 tokens
- in case of victory in the Crucible 5 tokens and in case of defeat 2 tokens
Quick farming methods for faction tokens
The most efficient way to farm faction tokens is represented by Lost Sectors and heroic public events.
Especially in the EDZ on Earth, there are many relatively short Lost Sectors that can be utilized for farming. Since Bungie has removed the timer for opening boss chests in Lost Sectors, the short sectors are excellent for running in, quickly eliminating the boss, opening the chest, and running back out as fast as possible. This process can then be repeated indefinitely and can also be done solo without much trouble. This way, you will also get a good yield for your valuable time even when playing alone.
Heroic public events are also well-suited for farming faction tokens. If you have an experienced fireteam, these events can be easily conquered within minutes and reward you with 5 tokens. With random players, this can become quite challenging as not every player knows how to trigger the various heroic events, but in most cases, it works pretty smoothly even with random encounters.
How to farm solo
If you are farming solo, it is definitely recommended to “clean out” Lost Sectors to approach faction token farming as effectively as possible.
How to farm as a group
If you’re out with a dedicated fireteam, you can’t go wrong by also focusing on Lost Sectors. But a combination of heroic public events and Lost Sectors can also be worthwhile. In this case, the focus is mainly on completing heroic events. If there is a period of time when no public events are available, you switch to looting short Lost Sectors until new public events spawn on the map. This method can also be practiced indefinitely and is an efficient way for a well-coordinated fireteam to obtain faction tokens.
The most efficient way to obtain faction tokens
The current faction rally is just getting started, but a new “fastest way” to farm tokens is already spreading. Here’s how the most efficient farming method works step by step:
How to find the right location:
- Open the navigator and head to the rig on the Saturn moon “Titan”
You have found the entrance to the Lost Sector – what now?
- Once you’ve entered the Lost Sector, follow the stairs and the winding corridors until you reach a spacious rectangular room – the loading bay
- In the middle of the room, directly in front of you, there is a container. Jump on it
- From there, you will immediately see the sector boss – a giant ogre – at your feet
- Ignore all other enemies and eliminate the boss as quickly as possible. It’s best to use a rocket launcher and your grenades for this
- After you’ve taken down the ogre, be sure to pick up the heavy ammo it drops and make your way to the easily visible boss chest, which is also directly in front of you on a slightly elevated platform
You have your tokens – what now?
- Once you’ve opened the chest and claimed your well-deserved tokens, turn around 180 degrees and walk to the edge of the elevated platform you are currently on
- Below the edge, directly at your feet, is a hive urn – a container that explodes when shot and deals heavy damage. It’s hard to miss
- Now jump from the edge to the container below and shoot at it
- The explosion will most likely take you out. If not, let the remaining enemies kill you
- After you die, you will almost always respawn on the stairs just before the loading bay – the room with the sector boss. Then, enter the room again. The boss should also be back
Repeat the process as often as you like
- If you spawn in a different location due to mispositioning after a death or if the sector boss does not appear anymore, you need to briefly leave the Lost Sector to another zone and then play it again according to the described pattern. However, this is rare
