Sony and Bungie are working hand in hand on the marketing. After the pre-order bonuses for Destiny 2, Sony now announces that it will offer a specially designed controller and two PlayStation 4 bundles at the launch of Destiny 2.
With the release of the game on September 6, the specially designed and limited controller can be purchased. It is white and features the Destiny2 logo on the touchpad.
Additionally, the handles feature the Destiny 2 symbol as well as the symbols for the three classes of the main game – Titans, Warlocks, and Hunters – in gold. Sony has not yet disclosed the price of the controller.
PlayStation 4 Pro Bundle
In addition to the exclusively designed controller, as newcomers, you can also purchase the following PS4 Pro in Glacier White:
- A copy of Destiny 2 on Blu-ray disc – with the already known PS4-exclusive content
- Expansion pass for Destiny 2
- Digital premium content (Legendary Sword, Legendary Player Gesture, and Badge in Cabal style)
The specially designed controller for Destiny 2 is not included in the bundle, despite the same color scheme. Instead, you will receive a standard PS4 controller in white. This bundle is listed at a price of €459.99 at GameStop.
PlayStation 4 Bundle
For those of you who do not want to purchase a PS4 Pro, Sony also offers the standard PS4 in Jet Black with the following contents:
- 1TB hard drive
- Second DualShock wireless controller in Jet Black included
- A copy of Destiny 2 on Blu-ray disc
The price for this bundle is not known.
Mein-MMO says: We do not understand why Sony does not include the specially designed controller for Destiny 2 in the PS4 Pro bundle at least. Also, the second DualShock wireless controller in the second bundle suggests that Destiny 2 can be played by two people on one console. This is not the case.
Otherwise, the bundles offer a good opportunity for newcomers who are interested in Destiny 2.
Destiny will be released on September 6 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and on October 24 for PC.
