Fans have uncovered a scandal in Destiny 2 that manipulated the loot of the Guardians to their disadvantage for many years. Now Bungie is making amends and wants to apologize for this debacle with words and, above all, with half God Rolls.
What was the scandal? The scandal first came to light under the term “Weightgate.” The fans’ theory suggested that selected perks in different perk columns are harder to acquire than others. These rolls mostly involved God Rolls of the respective weapons. Guardians saw this as a dubious action by Bungie to make fans grind longer until they got what they wanted.
At first, Bungie denied the allegations as the team investigated the issue and couldn’t find anything unusual. After further statements and even evidence from players, Bungie relented – it was found that there was indeed a bug in the system, which is now supposed to be fixed in patch 8.1.0.4.
Bungie apologizes with God Rolls
What does Bungie have planned? First of all, Bungie thanks the community for the active support in identifying the problem on x.com. For this reason, the developers have planned things in the near future to “compensate” the Guardians.
From November 19 to December 3, the new dungeon “Vesper’s Host” will drop double loot. Armor and weapons from the respective encounters will be able to drop. Especially fans who still want to complete their “Artful Armor” should farm their armor during this period.
Additionally, Banshee-44, the gunsmith in the Tower, will bring 6 weapons to his inventory starting November 19. These weapons and rolls will include:

The weapons currently have no expiration date, but Bungie advises players to pick them up from Banshee once November 19 has arrived.
Are these God Rolls that Bungie is distributing? They are not the best God Rolls one can get for these weapons. Nevertheless, especially players who grind little or not at all will have the opportunity to grab two weapons for PvP, add-clearing, as well as DPS phases without spending much time farming.
