GameStop’s stores offer players the MMO shooter Destiny 2 for €9.99 for PS4 and Xbox One as part of a trade-in promotion. Players leave two old games there and take the pre-order for Destiny 2 along with an exclusive Cayde-6 figure.
The retail chain GameStop has come under heavy pressure due to the increasing digitization of the gaming market. However, with special promotions, GameStop continues to draw attention to itself.
One campaign where players could trade their old PS4 for a new PS4 Pro was one of the major promotional highlights of the past months. However, there was a lot of commotion – there weren’t enough PS4 Pros in stock, and the promotion started too early, and then the stores weren’t properly prepared and there was a big alarm.
GameStop is planning another big promotion.
Destiny 2 for €9.99 and two “old” games from the trade-in list
From now on and until July 31, GameStop is including Destiny 2 in the “€9.99” promotion.
If customers go to one of the 250 GameStop stores with two games from the “€9.99” trade-in list, they can walk out of the store with a pre-order of Destiny 2 for PS4 or Xbox One for only €9.99 – or in Switzerland for CHF 9.90.
Exclusive Cayde-6 Figure

There is also a bonus promotion. In addition to guaranteed early access to the open beta (which all pre-order customers receive), GameStop has also negotiated an exclusive Cayde-6 figure for its customers. You can admire the figure in the title image above.
Cayde-6 is likely to play a central role in Destiny 2. He is considered somewhat of a fan favorite and seems to have a special place with Game Director Luke Smith.
The beta starts for pre-order customers on PS4 today at 7:00 PM. Therefore, we will have increased Destiny activity throughout the day on Mein-MMO.de and we apologize for it just a little bit.
