In a recently released video, a Warlock holds a weapon that doesn’t fit into the existing weapon categories. It’s too large for a sidearm and too compact for an auto rifle. And the Guardian holds this weapon differently than other weapons.
Many users are therefore certain: It is an SMG, meaning a submachine gun. This is a weapon category that has been increasingly requested in the forums.
It’s possible we might see a representative of the SMG during the gameplay reveal. Or perhaps entirely different weapon categories?
One thing is certain: Bungie will showcase new weapons that the Guardians have not seen yet. After all, all the stuff from Destiny 1 is gone. And Destiny 2 will offer “tons of new loot.” A gameplay premiere without weapons is unimaginable in Destiny.
Watch for Perks and Exotics
It will be interesting: What will the new weapons have to offer, what new perks will there be? Will there be any Exotics on display? Is Bungie maintaining the quality differentiation between standard, rare, legendary, and exotic?
The developers will certainly not release complete lists of all perks and exotics, but perhaps some abilities of the weapons can be spotted.
