What kind of trailer is this: On August 19th at just after 7 PM, Bungie showed a new trailer for the Shadowkeep expansion. What is the trailer about?
This is what the trailer announces: It is the official gamescom trailer for Shadowkeep. This is the upcoming autumn expansion for Destiny 2, which will be released on October 1, 2019. You can read all the information about Shadowkeep here.
According to the video description, you have not yet seen the darkness. Not yet. With Shadowkeep, that will change.
A great battle lies ahead. On the Moon, Guardians must face the nightmares of the past.
In the meantime, the trailer has been released in German, we embed it here:
This is what you see in the trailer: Eris Morn speaks to you. She says that something terrible has awakened. It is now up to you to stop the nightmares. In the end, Eris says: “The Guardians are at war again.” In the original English, she says that a great battle lies ahead.
The video offers plenty of action. Among other things, Finishing Moves can be seen in action. This is a new Guardian ability that allows you to take down enemies when they have low health. Each class has a different Finishing Move.
Particularly exciting in this trailer are the enemies that you get to see. Dark, sinister foes hover over the lunar surface:

In addition, you can recognize “old enemies” that you have already battled in Destiny 1, such as Skolas, Omnigul, or Crota. Even Ghaul, the villain from the Destiny 2 launch, seems to be returning as a “nightmare.”
New armor and weapons can also be spotted. Among other things, the Moon armor, which makes the Warlock look rather ridiculous.
So far, the trailer is getting a very good reception. Bungie proves once again that they can make trailers well.
