In Destiny 2, you can now download a new PS4 design for your console. It comes from an artist in the Destiny community and is free for everyone.
Free PS4 design for you: As of today, September 20th, you can download a new PS4 design in the Destiny style to adorn the background of your PS4 menu. However, this design does not come from professional design artists at Activision or Bungie – but directly from the community.
Community Graphic Design: As PlayStation announces, they collaborated with artist Brian Moncus to create a “stunning PS4 design” to celebrate the Destiny community.
Moncus himself has been drawing since he can remember and has been playing video games for almost as long, shares PlayStation. Additionally, he is a huge Destiny fan.
This is what the design looks like
This background image can be seen in the lower PS4 menu view, with Cayde-6 and Uldren Sov:
This background image is visible in the upper PS4 menu view with the Barons, the enemies in Forsaken:
Additionally, the Destiny 2 Forsaken music plays when you’re in the menu. However, the design is not “dynamic” – nothing moves in the background.
This is how to download it for free: Go to the settings on your PS4 menu, scroll down a bit, and press “Design.” Then select “Choose Design” and go all the way down to “Find in PlayStation Store.” There, the Destiny design will be displayed first.
You can download it directly. It is 12.6 MB in size.
You can access the design through other means, but this will definitely help you find it. If in doubt, this link will take you to the PS Store for the community design.
You can see the creation of the PS4 design in this time-lapse video:
What do the Guardians say about it? Moncus is receiving tons of praise from the community for this design. It’s fantastic, it’s great, it’s epic – as read in the comments under the PlayStation tweet. They thank the artist – also for making it available for free download.
Besides this PS4 design, there’s also another PS4 design for Forsaken that is also free.
Are you getting the design? Or can it not replace your current background image?
