If you want the Razer-exclusive Cutting Edge badge in Destiny 2, you can buy it individually on eBay. However, prices are steep!
The badges (emblems) in Destiny 2 are purely cosmetic. They serve as a background for your gamer tag and color the design of your character overview. Some emblems also track the number of certain achievements, such as kills with Guardian subclasses. However, they do not provide advantages in combat; they are not game-changing.
For many Guardians, their own badge still holds significant value. After all, the Guardians they play with can see it directly, and naturally, you want to make a good impression. A particularly rare badge or an emblem with a cool design – that means something.
A badge that is rare and exclusive while also having a unique look is the Cutting Edge badge:
You cannot earn it in Destiny 2. You can only obtain Cutting Edge by purchasing PC accessories in Destiny 2 style from Razer. Then you receive a code that you can redeem on Bungie.net to get the badge. Currently, these codes for the emblems are being traded at exorbitant prices on eBay.
100 Euros for a badge?
A look at eBay shows that the “Cutting Edge” emblem, as the badge is called in English, is being sold for prices between 70 dollars and 175 dollars. The top offer in my search results is a Cutting Edge emblem for 124 dollars, which is approximately 100 Euros.
When it comes to such offers on eBay, caution is always advised. Some listings may seem legitimate – the product description mentions that it is a code, along with instructions on how to redeem the code – but in another listing, it states that no code will be sent, and the seller would personally transfer the emblem to your account. Whatever happens after the purchase, there are no refunds. You should definitely steer clear of that…
However, buying the emblem for 100 Euros on eBay is generally not a good deal. Because if you buy the official Razer mouse in Destiny 2 style for around 90 Euros, you receive the badge for free: This way, you get not only the emblem for a lower price but also the mouse, which you can perhaps resell if you don’t like it.
Important Note: You only receive the exclusive emblem if you buy the Destiny 2 mouse, keyboard, or headset from Razer, with the mouse being the cheapest option. The purchase must be made through the official Razer site. You can also buy the products on German Amazon, but it doesn’t mention anywhere that you will receive the badge as well.
In summary: If you absolutely want the Cutting Edge badge, then it’s better to buy the official Razer mouse instead of paying horrendous amounts on eBay – and maybe end up with nothing.
