In Destiny 2, the first raid challenge begins today, on October 31st. We will accompany this event in a livestream. Be there!

Today at 6 PM, Bungie announced the first challenge in the Leviathan raid. The Royal Baths will kick things off. If you complete this encounter in a new way, you will receive additional rewards.
How this raid challenge will work is still unknown. The Guardians will have to figure it out themselves.
If you can’t join the start directly or prefer to watch other Guardians at work first, you can watch Nexxoss Gaming during his raid run. He will go into the raid with his fireteam at 6 PM to tackle the challenge. We embed the Twitch stream here:

Once the challenge is solved, a guide will appear on Mein-MMO.de shortly thereafter. Until then, feel free to speculate on how the challenge will go.
Bungie has generally released only a few details about the challenges. We currently know only that starting October 31st, each week a different encounter in the raid will feature the challenge. And as soon as the challenge fails, you will be informed via in-game message.
As rewards, there will be new emblems for each raid challenge as well as guaranteed raid drops. This means that collectors among you will likely have to wait four weeks until they have all the raid challenge emblems together.
Raid challenges were first introduced in the Winter of 2015 in the Oryx raid. In these, encounters must be completed in specific ways and enemies must be defeated in specific ways. This is meant to break established strategies in the raid and require a rethinking.
