In the new expansion of Destiny 2, Guardians will once again receive an artifact. This one not only works differently but also introduces mods that can enhance your builds. You can find details in our overview.
What changes with the artifact? With The Edge of Fate, Bungie will be restructuring the artifact. Many Guardians used the item to secure a power bonus, but this will be completely removed with the implementation of the new DLC. Instead, the artifact will provide you with only seasonal bonuses and mods that can expand your build.
More power levels can thus only be achieved through stronger armor and weapons that you can earn through grinding. The launch of the new expansion isn’t far off, and in preparation, Bungie has already listed all the new mods from the artifact that you can expect soon (Source: bungie.net).
Edge of Fate: Focus of the new season
Which combat style will be preferred at the start of Edge of Fate? As far as weapons are concerned, the season will mainly focus on the use of scout and pulse rifles to take down barrier champions.
Pistols, hand cannons, and sniper rifles will take on the role of cracking your unstoppable champions. When it comes to overload champions, you will be well served with shotguns, auto rifles, and SMGs.
For your ultimates, there are many mods for Solar, Stasis, and Strand that can assist your builds. Void and Arc are less fortunate this time.
All mods at a glance
- Radiant Shrapnel
- Causing continuous weapon damage while radiant or defeating a scorched combatant with a weapon releases solar projectiles that cause damage and scorch on impact.
- Shield Break
- When Woven Armor, Frost Armor, or a Void Overshield is equipped, melee cooldowns are faster and deal more damage.
- When empowered or radiant, grenades charge faster and deal more damage.
- Elemental Overdrive
- Picking up an elemental orb or a tangle grants weapons of the same element increased damage.
- Tangled Net
- Creating a tangle by defeating a target affected by a strand debuff binds nearby combatants.
- Icy Gaze
- While Frost Armor is active, Stasis precision final blows cause combatants to release a freezing impulse.
That was all the information about the artifact of the new season. What do you think of the selection this time? Is there something for you and your builds, or do you need to reposition yourself?
