Destiny 2 will soon see the start of the third Faction Rally. For the first time, there are beautiful ornaments to earn – and these winning weapons.
Update: The Faction Rally has been postponed indefinitely.
Next week, the factions will gather again in the Tower to win you over for their cause. The third Faction Rally in Destiny 2 is approaching, which also marks the first Rally in Season 2 where there is a difference: This time, you can earn new ornaments along with weapons and armor pieces that will beautify your gear.
- The third group battle starts on December 12 and ends a week later on December 19, at the Weekly Reset at 6 PM.
The rules of the game have not changed in Season 2:
- To participate in the Faction Rally, you must have access to the Tower.
- Per character, you can adopt the allegiance of a faction (Dead Orbit, New Monarchy, Future War Cult), then collect tokens for them and earn as many reward packages as possible. The faction that earns the most reward packages after one week wins the Rally.
- You support the faction by completing public events, strikes, and the raid, by looting lost sectors, or proving yourself in the Crucible.
- The winning faction will offer its winning weapon for one week after the Rally. The two other winning faction weapons of the factions that lost will remain under wraps.
What new loot is there in the third group battle?
To let you know in advance what rewards you will be fighting for, Bungie has now released screenshots of the new loot. This will likely influence many Guardians in which faction they will commit.

You earn the ornaments by mastering specific challenges. You don’t need any drop luck, nor do you have to throw money to anyone – you have to unlock the ornaments. What exactly you need to do for this, we will likely find out on Tuesday.

If you are a member of the winning faction, you will receive the winning weapon for 1000 Glimmer. But all other Guardians can also buy this weapon – but for 50,000 Glimmer.
The first two faction battles were won by Dead Orbit and New Monarchy. This time, the winner will be determined cross-platform based on the number of earned reward engrams. In other words, it will likely be the faction with the most members that wins.
Therefore, we are now starting the next poll: Which faction will you choose this time? Which faction do you want to lead to victory?
Important Note: The Trials of Osiris will take place this weekend (starting December 8). Despite this over-weapon, they will not be canceled.
