Now it’s official: The 1st DLC of Destiny 2 is called Curse of Osiris. Some features are already known.
In the first DLC of Destiny 2, it’s about Osiris. This was already known when Destiny 2 was unveiled in spring, as the Osiris logo was undoubtedly visible on the season pass graphic back then:
At the end of August, a big leak about this DLC came to light: US reporter Jason Schreier stated that the DLC would be called “Course of Osiris” and released in December 2017. There would be a new story revolving around Osiris.
Recently, there was another leak: The Xbox Store listed a complete product description of the DLC. The main features were revealed this way.
Apparently, Bungie realized that they can no longer keep this DLC secret and put an end to all wild speculations about the “authenticity” of these leaks. Bungie’s Eric Osborne tweeted: Curse of Osiris is not a leak. It is real.
Note: Spoilers ahead!
What can we expect in the 1st DLC “Curse of Osiris”?
According to the Xbox Store, “Curse of Osiris” continues the Guardian’s journey and offers new story missions and adventures in a new location: Mercury.
You travel through time and space and unveil the secrets of Osiris (an ancient Warlock). During the story, you must renew “the bond between the legendary Warlock and his greatest student Ikora Ray.”
By the way: Osiris was once part of the Vanguard. He was banished by the Speaker from the Last City because he was too obsessed with darkness and sought “other truths.”
These DLC features are listed:
- Mercury and its mysterious “Infinite Forest”
- New story missions and adventures
- New themed weapons, armor, and gear
- New cooperative activities
- New competitive multiplayer arenas
- “And more …”
From Schreier’s leak, it is also revealed that you are to save Osiris from the Vex. Additionally, the Lighthouse returns as a new social space.
The release is said to be in December 2017 according to the leak. The DLC is expected to be released on all platforms simultaneously.
Keep in mind that the information from the leaks is not official. Only the name “Curse of Osiris” has been confirmed by Bungie.
