Destiny 2 wanted to gift you paid loot for 7 days, but because some players did not follow the rules, no one will receive anything now.
What is this free loot? In Destiny 2, you can visit the Emissary at the “Ritual of the Nine” in Eternity. She offers you various bounties, quests, and gifts that you can collect.
Among the Emissary’s gifts are various exotic weapons, raid banners, and the new “Engrams of the Nine” as usual. These special engrams include cosmetic items like weapon ornaments, ships, and emotes that you originally had to purchase with Silver in Eververse.
In total, you can exchange 20 engrams with the Emissary. As a special gift, you should also receive one engram for free every day from July 8 to July 15 – however, that is no longer the case. Bungie has disabled the daily gifts.
Collective punishment due to greedy players
Why were the gifts disabled? As Bungie stated on X, there was an exploit with the free engrams from the Emissary that allowed players to receive more than one engram for free.
To do this, players deleted a character from their account to pick up a free engram multiple times on an existing character, thereby obtaining unlimited engrams.
Therefore, Bungie has now disabled the daily free engram while they work on a solution to the problem.
What do the players say about it? On Reddit and in the comments on X, there are various reactions to the news. Some players cannot understand how players can delete a character just for a few cosmetic items.
Other players are disappointed because they logged in this week mainly for these engrams. Accordingly, it is met with negativity from the community that now everyone is punished because some players could not follow the rules. Speaking of punishment: Bungie recently had a Discord server for Destiny shut down: Bungie is doing what they never did with Destiny: shutting down one of the largest Discord servers with 30,000 members
