In Destiny 2, the PlayStation-exclusive content is well known. These contents are available exclusively on PS4 for at least one year.
At Sony’s E3 press conference, the PlayStation-exclusive content was revealed. Thanks to a marketing deal between Sony and Activision, PS4 Guardians can look forward to these additional contents:
Lake of Shadows – Exclusive Strike: You will go to the European Dead Zone, where you must face the Taken. The Strikes in Destiny 2 are cooperative activities for three players, just like in Destiny 1.
Exclusive Armor Pieces:
- The Titan receives “Terra Concord”:
- The Warlock gets “Tesseract Trace IV”:
- The Hunter receives “Icarus Drifter”:
Exclusive to PS4 is a ship called City Apex:
A PvP map: Retribution. This seems to take place on a ship high up:
And particularly exciting: there is an exclusive, exotic weapon. It is called Borealis. It is a sniper that can switch elemental damage (Solar, Arc, Void) at will. The appearance of the weapon changes as well:

How long are the PS4-exclusive contents exclusive?
Update: The contents will be released in 2018 for Xbox and PC.
The time exclusivity lasts for at least one year. All these contents will be available exclusively on PS4 until “at least Fall 2018”. The past has shown that the word “at least” is important. Because the exclusive contents from September 2015 are still not available on Xbox.
The deal between Sony and Activision for Destiny 2 strongly resembles the deal for Destiny 1. There were also PlayStation-exclusive weapons, armor pieces, PvP maps, ships, and a strike.
By the way: The video currently (June 13) has more negative ratings than positive on YouTube. No one is really happy about Xbox players being excluded from this content. Because “at least one year” is a long time.
